Classic Trio
The Classic Trio formed by viola player Ara Ghukasyan, violinist Nonna Alakhverdova and guitarist Pablo Edmundo Rios, will present a concert within the gala nights of the 23rd International Festival Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado 2007 on Thursday 25th at Ferrocarrilero Museum at 19:00 hours in Empalme.
Nonna Alakhverdova
From Mexican nationality, she was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1969. At early age, she entered in Yerevan’s Tchaikovsky School of Music, at the age of 8 she won Armenia’s Republican Contest as best interpreter of Bach’s concert music for violin and orchestra. Alakhverdova finished her violinist career and the doctorate at Armenia’s Conservatory as soloist and teacher, and a specialty in musical pedagogy. She took part of Armenia’s National Camerata and founded Yerevan’s String Quintet with Piano and with them she started various tours. She has performed as soloists of groups and orchestras from several countries including her participation as assistant viola player and soloist of Coahuilas Cameratta, 2002-2003. Nowadays, she is violinist assistant concertino and teacher of Sonora’s Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ara Ghukasyan
From Mexican Nationality, he was born in Yerevan, Armenia. He began his musical training at early age at Yerevan’s School of Music, at age seven he won first place at the Republic Contest for Young Interpreters and Armenia’s Republican Contest. He concluded violinist career in Armenia’s Conservatory and did a doctorate in the same conservatory obtaining titles of Soloist and Maestro, and he studied the specialization in musical Pedagogy.
He founded Yerevan’s String Quintet with Piano and obtained the award for best performance in the Contest of Armenia’s Camera Groups. Ghukasyan has performed as a soloist in groups and orchestras from different countries; he has been leading concertino from Armenia’s National Camerata, leading viola and soloist of Coahuila’s Camerata and from the Symphonic Orchestra of the University Juarez in Durango. Nowadays, he is leading viola player and teacher of Sonora’s Philharmonic Orchestra.
Pablo Edmundo Rios, guitarist
In 1981, he began his activity as a teacher of classic guitar in Sonora’s Casa de la Cultura. He has taken master classes with prominent guitarists like Manuel Barreco, Joaquin Clerch and Leo Brouwer (Cuba), among others. Pablo Edmundo Rios has formed groups of Chamber Music with whom he accomplished tours in Sonora, Baja California, South Baja California and Sinaloa. From 1989 to 1991, he performed with Tucson’s Symphonic Orchestra Quartet and other member of the same group. In 2003, he was invited to the North West Orchestras Festival by the Ensemble Pro-Arte, to commemorate the 468th Anniversary of La Paz City in Baja California. In 2005 and 2006, he participated with the Classic Trioand Classic Quintetin Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival.
