Cavatina Duet
Cavatina Duet, formed by Eugenia Moliner, flautist and Denis Azabagic, guitarist, will offer concerts on Thursday 25th at 12:00 hours in Alamo’s Temple of Purísima Concepción and on Friday 26th at 20:00 hours in the Auditorium Theater “Profr. Romeo Gomez Aguilar” in Navojoa, within the 23rd International Festival Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado 2007.
The combination among Spanish passion and the Balcanes sensibility have made them in one of the most impressive duets of flute and guitar nowadays.
Since their triumph in the Contest “Young soloists” (Rotterdam, Holland, 1996), their performances full with energy, as the originality of the programs they offer, have captivate public through musical festivals in Europe and United States: Festival de Aix in Province, France; Eem & Veem Holland Festival; IGF in Germany; Malibu concerts series; Myra Hess in United States and Tai Pei Concert hall in Taiwan.
The critics praise their records: “Eugenia Moliner’s musicality flute and Denis Azabagic guitar, it is not the result of laborious rehearsals. These two musicians feel the art with deepness and seem to be one when they play” (American Record Guide); “They posses an incredible communicative abilities” (Classical guitar). Frequently, they are invited to participate in radio and television programs, in Europe and North America.
The compromise to increase the original repertoire for flute and guitar, has inspired composers from all around the world to dedicate their work to them: Carlos Rivera’s La maja y el hechicero (Cuba-United States); Alejandro Yague’s Viaggio (Spain); Erik Otte’s Sonata para flauta y guitarra (Holland); Michael Karmon’s Roominating (United States) and special arrangements to several pieces of Astor Piazolla, for Sergio Assad (Brazil)
Eugenia Moliner, flautist
She has been claimed a splendid performer by the British magazine British Flute Society. She executes concerts with her pianist Rob Broek, with the New Opus Trio and Cavatina Duet. Her recording work integrates three compact discs for the labels Opera Tres and Orobroy.
Denis Azabagic, guitarrist
He is recognized by his velvety sound and his virtuosity technique.Winner of ten international contest of worldwide prestigious, Denis has performed concerts with orchestras from Europe and United States, and in famous forums like Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Radio France in Paris. His recording includes six compact discs and a video recording (Opera Tres, Naxos, Mel Bay)..
