Gabriela Copca and Claudia Gutierrez

Mezzo-soprano Gabriela Copca and soprano Claudia Gutierrez, accompanied for the string quartet integrated for Khosrov Yaghubyan, first violin; Mario Alan Gomez, second violin; Maria Jesus Moreno, violinist and Enrique Tellez, violoncello, will perform in the gala nights of the 23rd edition of the International Festival Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado 2007, on Saturday 20th at 20:00 hours in the Theater Auditorium “Prof.. Romeo Gomez Aguilar” in Navojoa and Sunday 21st in the Auditorium of Huatabampo’s Agricultural Union Credit.

Baroque Religious Music Concert.Instrumental music with the String Quartet in the first part, and G. B. Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater for soprano, mezzo-soprano and strings.

Gabriela CopcaGabriela Copca, mezzo-soprano
Native from Mexico City, she studied in the National Conservatory of Music with teacher Alirio Campos Chanto, and in the Superior School of Music in the University of Coahuila with Martha Felix, Consuelo Martinez de Campos and Revmira Shershukova. In 1994 finished her studies with the prestigious Cuban teacher Ninon Lima in the School of Music from the University of Zacatecas.

Gabriela Copca debuted professionally under the guidance of maestro Ramon Shade accompanied with Coahuila’s Cameratta, with Mozart’s Misa de Coronación, and participated regularly with this association singing G. B. Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and G. F. Haendel’s Messiah, among others. As a soloist stands out her participation with the Cameratta from the University of Zacatecas and the Chamber Orchestra from U. A. Z. under the direction of maestro Enrique Chavez. She has participated in recitals in festivals like, Cultural Festival of Zacatecas in its1996 to 1998 editions, Musical Autumn in Zacatecas 1997 with pianist Oscar Tarrago, Mexico-Texas Festival with the Vocal Ensemble of Ancient Music “Los Madrigalistas”, from which she was member from 1992 to 1998.

In 1998 she performed the role of Santuzza from Cavalleria rusticana opera in Zacatecas. Participated in the Festival “Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado” 2000, as a soloist with the actual Sonora’s Philharmonic Orchestra. In October 2004, performed the character of Gianetta in G. Donizetti’s opera L’elisir d’amore, co-production of the University of Sonora and the Sonoran Institute of Culture.

In the Festival “Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado” 2005, realized a performance with Spanish music and dance next to Daniel Villegas pianist, Tania Alday contemporary dance ballerina and Manolo Martinez, flamenco dancer.
Gabriela Copca assisted to courses and master classes with James Demster, Luis Ledesma, Danielle Orlando, Jan Stella Copland, Tito Capobianco, Enrique Carreon and Gerardo Gonzalez, among others. Nowadays, she is guest teacher of the Bachelor in Arts with option in singing from the University of Sonora, activity that shares her artistic career.

Claudia GutiérrezClaudia Gutierrez,soprano
She was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, began her studies in the Superior School of Music from the University of Coahuila. Claudia Gutierrez has participated in courses of training and vocal technique with Cuban Ninon Lima, with the pianist and opera director James Demster and recently with Doctorate Joyce Farwell in the Shepherd School of Music of Rice University in Houston, Texas.

She has perform as soloist in different forums inland of the Mexican Republic. She has participated in several seasons of Coahuila’s Camerata concerts, as well with the University of Coahuila. Claudia Gutierrez received compliments for her vocal performance as for her intuition and scenic intelligence, during her debut in the character of Belinda in Henry Purcell’s operas Dido y Eneas, just as well in the character of La Madre in Gian Carlo Menotti’s production Amahl y los visitantes nocturnos. Since 2005, she acts under the direction of the well-known baritone Arturo Rodriguez Torres.

Sonorous String Quartet
Of recently formation, the quartet is an ensemble that distinguishes for their interpretative quality and the taste for a mixed repertoire. The members: Khosrov Yaghubyan, first violin; Mario Gomez, second violin; Maria Jesus Moreno, viola and Enrique Tellez, violoncello, they all are member of the Sonora’s Philharmonic Orchestra, as well. They have the commitment to let people know the wide sonorous possibilities that the chamber music offers. The quarter has offer private concerts, where stands out the recital for the Sonora-Arizona Commission in 2004, as well as benefit functions of religious institutions and radio presentations
