Dieter Hennings

The classic guitarist Dieter Hennings will offer recitals in the 23rd International Festival Dr. Alfonso Ortiz Tirado 2007, on Thursday 25th at 20:00 hours in the Auditorium of the Comisariado Ejidal No. 1, in Bacobampo, parish of Etchojoa, and on Friday 26th at 19:00 hours in the Civic Auditorium Fray Ivo Toneck in Guaymas.

He began guitar studios with the painter, guitarist and pianist Irene Murillo de Almada. He has the Bachelor in Arts with specialty in classic guitar in the University of Arizona. He has won several international guitar contests, among them stands out,  Ralph Stevens Guitar Competition (2000), Douglas Schaeffer Guitar Competition (1999 and 2000), Portland International Guitar Festival (2001) and the Petrer-Alicante Contest (Spain).

Dieter Hennings has received scholarships for musical investigation from Medici Scholarship and the Undergraduate Research Grant. He participated in the Iserlohn Guitar Festival in Germany and in the Francisco Tarrega Contest in Benicasim, Spain.

He is soloist of guitar and ancient music. At present time, he studies in the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York. He was recipient of the State Fund for the Culture and Arts of Sonora in the period 2004-2005.
