Soprano Eglise Gutierrez - A rising star of the international opera world soprano Eglise Gutiérrez has already sung in some of the most prestigious venues of the world including Rome, Berlin, Trieste, Covent Garden, Florence, Cagliari, Carnegie Hall, Vienna, Savonlinna, Bellas Artes, Tel Aviv, Hamburg, Athens, the Santa Fe Festival, Cincinnati Opera and the Seattle Opera in roles such as Lucia, Gilda, Elvira in I Puritani, Violetta, Amina, and Lakme.
In 2009-10 she made her debut at Covent Garden as Linda di Chamounix, Berlin Deutsche Oper as Lucia,Teatro Real in Madrid as Elvira in I Puritani, and her Dresden and Zurich debut as Gilda in Rigoletto. In addition, she returned to Cagliari as Elvira in I Puritani, Seattle as Violetta, and Miami and Savonlinna as Lucia. Future engagements beyond this season include her return to Covent Garden as Amina in La Sonnambula, and La Fée in Cendrillon. She will also be making debuts at La Monnaie (Cendrillon), Festival Alejandro Granda in Lima (Lucia), Barcelona (Antonia/Olympia/Giulietta and Fee in Cendrillon), and at the Opera Comique in Paris (Cendrillon) and as Elvire in a new production of Auber’s La Muette de Portici, which will also tour throughout Luxembourg, Vienna, and St. Etienne.
This season she also returned to Vancouver Opera as Lucia. In 2008-09 Miss Gutierrez made her debut at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari as Amina in La Sonnambula, her Florence debut as Lucia, her Hamburg debut as Gilda, as well as Traviata in Miami, Lucia in Montreal, Rigoletto in Vancouver, I Puritani in Athens, Lucia in Savonlinna, and Rigoletto in Ravinia. In 2012 she will debut the role of Bellini’s Giulietta at the Caramoor Festival. In 2007-08 she returned to Carnegie Hall in an enormously successful Sonnambula with Eve Queler. That same season she also sang the role of Amina in Detroit staged by Renata Scotto and conducted by Maestro Bonynge. In August 2008 she debuted the role of Violetta in La Traviata with the Cincinnati Opera. Miss Gutierrez has also appeared in concert and recital in Prague, Paris, Beijing, Cannes, Las Palmas, Helsinki, Savonlinna, Miami, New York, and San Juan.
